About Us

The National Service of Apprenticeship, SENA, started its activities in the islands of San Andres and Providence, on year 1977, in a little house located in the section of san Luis, offering training courses to approximately 40 students in dressmaking area. 

Two year later, SENA’s headquarter, was moved to the 2oth of July avenue, and some short courses on trade and services were started. 

Assigned to the branch of Bogota - Cundinamarca, islands official headquarters was inaugurated in 1985, which gave the opportunity to enlarging its coverage to the west Caribbean, making official, in 1990 the initiation of  the “Caribbean Multiple Center”. Meanwhile, in 1986, was created the Center of Old Providence and Catalina, in the section of Old Town, to attend training demands.

Since year 2004, on behalf of National Reforms, the institution was reorganized as Regional Direction, and created a center denominated Gente de Mar y Servicios, witch executed entire policy of the organization.
